Venmo Casinos: Which US Casinos Take Venmo, With Limits and Payout Times
Venmo casinos are easy to find in the states where online casinos are legal. DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, BetRivers and Golden Nugget all take Venmo for deposits and pay winnings back to it, in as little as 30 minutes after approval. No sweepstakes casino I checked takes Venmo at all.
- Who takes Venmo? Seven big regulated operators I checked. BetMGM, Caesars and BetRivers list it in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia.
- How fast are payouts? BetRivers says 30 minutes after approval, FanDuel up to 24 hours, DraftKings up to 2 days.
- Deposit limits: $4,999.99 per deposit at DraftKings and Golden Nugget, but only $299.99 a week from an unverified Venmo account.
- Sweepstakes casinos: None of the 11 sweeps help centers I searched mentions Venmo, and Crown Coins won’t redeem prizes to a Venmo account.
- The rule that trips people up: Never pay a casino from inside the Venmo app. DraftKings, FanDuel and Golden Nugget only take Venmo through their own cashier.
I went through Venmo’s user agreement, the PayPal policy it links to and the help pages of every operator here, so the limits and payout times below are the companies’ own. Real-money online casinos are legal in seven states, and our casino payment methods hub compares the alternatives where Venmo isn’t offered.
Venmo Casinos: Facts and Figures
- Regulated operators that take Venmo: 7 I checked, DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Borgata, Caesars, BetRivers and Golden Nugget.
- Fastest payout: within 30 minutes of approval at BetRivers.
- Per-deposit limit: $4,999.99 at DraftKings and Golden Nugget, with $19,999.99 a week from a verified Venmo account.
- Unverified Venmo accounts: $299.99 a week in deposits at the same two operators.
- Largest single withdrawal: $20,000 to Venmo at DraftKings and Golden Nugget.
- Instant Transfer fee: 1.75% to move winnings from Venmo to your bank in minutes, capped at $25. Standard transfers are free.
- Caesars minimums: $5 to deposit and $1 to withdraw digitally, in every state.
- Legal real-money states: 7, all at age 21. Maine has legalized online casinos but they are not live yet.
- Sweeps help centers mentioning Venmo: 0 of the 11 I searched. Crown Coins names it only to say it won’t redeem to it.
Online Casinos That Accept Venmo
Online casinos that accept Venmo are the household names of US regulated gambling, and most of them let you withdraw back to Venmo too. This table comes from each operator’s own help pages, read between October 9 and October 16, 2026.
| Operator | Deposit | Withdraw to Venmo | Limits | Payout time | Fee | States in its help center |
| DraftKings | Yes, immediate | Yes, after a Venmo deposit | $4,999.99 a deposit, $19,999.99 a week, $20,000 a withdrawal | Up to 2 days | n/a | Not every jurisdiction |
| Golden Nugget | Yes, immediate | Yes, after a Venmo deposit | $4,999.99 a deposit, $19,999.99 a week, $20,000 a withdrawal | Up to 2 business days | n/a | Not every jurisdiction |
| FanDuel | Yes, most states | Yes, after a Venmo deposit | n/a | Up to 24 hours | n/a | Not in Connecticut or Tennessee |
| BetMGM | Yes, 10-20 seconds | Yes | Cashier minimums | After internal review | None on deposits | NJ, PA, MI, WV |
| Borgata | Yes | Yes | Cashier minimums | After internal review | None on deposits | NJ |
| Caesars | Yes, from a bank account | Yes | $5 minimum deposit, $1 minimum withdrawal | After review | n/a | NJ, PA, MI, WV |
| BetRivers | Yes | Yes | n/a | Within 30 minutes of approval | n/a | NJ, PA, MI, WV |

Where Venmo Casinos Are Legal
The casino side of all seven operators only runs where online casinos are legal: Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and West Virginia. BetMGM, Caesars and BetRivers have Venmo help pages for New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia.
Connecticut is the exception worth knowing. FanDuel says PayPal and Venmo “are not available to use in Connecticut (Mohegan Reservation) and Tennessee”, so a FanDuel player there needs another method. DraftKings and Golden Nugget only say Venmo isn’t permitted in every jurisdiction, so check the cashier when you’re in a new state.
BetRivers: Venmo Payouts Within 30 Minutes of Approval
BetRivers pays the fastest Venmo withdrawal I found, with funds available within 30 minutes of approval. Its help centers list Venmo deposits in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia, and PayPal gets the same 30-minute promise if you’d rather use that.
Depositing is easy on any device. On a desktop, BetRivers shows a QR code that opens Venmo on your phone, and you approve the payment there. The 30 minutes start once BetRivers has approved your request, so its own review comes first.
FanDuel: Venmo Both Ways, Paid Within 24 Hours
FanDuel takes Venmo for deposits in most states and pays it back within 24 hours of approval, once you’ve made a Venmo deposit first. Your Venmo has to be funded by a linked bank account. A linked debit or credit card won’t work, but you can switch the funding source in Venmo under Settings, Connected Businesses.
Two catches. PayPal and Venmo are off on the Mohegan Reservation in Connecticut and in Tennessee, so a Connecticut player needs another method. And changing or unlinking your Venmo account needs Customer Support. Never send money to anyone in the Venmo app to fund the account.
DraftKings: Clear Venmo Limits, Paid Out in Up to 2 Days
DraftKings publishes clear Venmo limits, $4,999.99 a deposit and $19,999.99 a week from a verified Venmo account, and up to $20,000 per withdrawal. Unverified accounts are capped at $299.99 a week, so verify first. Deposits process immediately once you tap Agree and Complete.
Your first Venmo deposit has to be made in the app, not on desktop, from a personal Venmo account with a balance on file. Business accounts are refused. Withdrawals open after that first deposit, take up to 2 days and land in your Venmo balance, not your bank.
Golden Nugget: DraftKings Venmo Rules, Counted in Business Days
Golden Nugget runs Venmo with the same limits as DraftKings, $4,999.99 a deposit, $19,999.99 a week verified, $299.99 a week unverified and no single withdrawal over $20,000. Your first Venmo deposit has to come from your personal account, made in the app.
The difference is the clock. Venmo withdrawals take up to 2 business days here, against 2 days at DraftKings, and they go to your Venmo balance. Golden Nugget won’t accept a transfer sent from inside the Venmo app either, because of the risk of lost deposits.
BetMGM: Free Venmo Deposits, Approved in Seconds
BetMGM charges nothing for Venmo deposits, and approval takes 10-20 seconds if you already have a Venmo account. It has Venmo help pages for New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia, and the deposit comes from your Venmo balance or your bank, depending on whether the balance covers it. You can withdraw more than you deposited.
Watch the closed-loop rule. If Venmo is your highest-value deposit method over the last three months, you have to send an amount equal to your Venmo deposits back to Venmo before any other method opens up. Venmo works in USD only, and every payment has to be one you start yourself.
Caesars: $5 Venmo Deposits From a Verified Bank Account
Caesars has the lowest published minimums here, $5 to deposit and $1 to withdraw digitally, in every state. It takes deposits from your personal Venmo account in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia, and Venmo can take your winnings straight back.
The funding rule is strict. Venmo deposits only work from a verified bank account, and Caesars says linked credit or debit cards can’t fund real-money gaming. Some banks won’t approve gaming transactions at all, so a decline isn’t always Venmo’s fault. Payouts come after its security review.
Borgata: BetMGM's Venmo Rules in New Jersey
Borgata Online runs on the same platform as BetMGM and has a Venmo page in its New Jersey help center. Venmo works both ways, for deposits and payouts, with no charge on deposits and the cashier’s own minimums.
It also shares BetMGM’s closed-loop rule. If Venmo is your biggest deposit method over the last three months, your Venmo deposits go back to Venmo before any other withdrawal method opens. Payouts follow the internal review, so I’d keep Venmo as your main method here rather than mix it with a card.
Venmo's Rules on Gambling
Venmo’s gambling rules come from PayPal, because the Venmo user agreement is a contract between you and PayPal, Inc. That agreement links to PayPal’s Acceptable Use Policy, and gambling sits in its list of activities that need PayPal’s approval first.
The policy covers “casino games, sports betting, horse or greyhound racing, fantasy sports, lottery tickets” and sweepstakes, and only “if the operator and customers are located exclusively in jurisdictions where such activities are permitted by law”. Using the service for anything that needs pre-approval without getting it is prohibited, and Venmo’s own help pages rule out casino games, sports betting and sweepstakes “unless the operator has obtained prior approval from Venmo”. You can read the whole policy on PayPal’s legal pages.

What Venmo Says About Illegal Gambling
The user agreement carries an unlawful internet gambling notice. Restricted transactions under Federal Reserve Regulation GG, the payments gambling businesses knowingly accept for unlawful internet gambling, are prohibited from going through your Venmo account. The Venmo Mastercard has the same line, and it “cannot be used for illegal gambling”.
What You Give Up When You Pay a Casino With Venmo
Venmo’s Purchase Protection excludes “gambling, gaming and/or any other activities with an entry fee and a prize”, so a casino deposit has no buyer protection. Venmo’s cash back program excludes gambling, betting, lottery and gaming transactions as well. A deposit through the casino’s cashier is still the safe way to do it, because the casino is a licensed business that answers to a state regulator.
How to Deposit and Withdraw With Venmo
Depositing at Venmo casinos always starts in the casino’s cashier, never in the Venmo app. These are the steps DraftKings, BetMGM, FanDuel and BetRivers publish, merged into one list.
- Verify your Venmo account in your own name. DraftKings and Golden Nugget cap unverified accounts at $299.99 a week.
- Link a bank account in Venmo. FanDuel and Caesars won’t accept a Venmo deposit funded by a card.
- Open the casino app’s deposit page and pick Venmo. At DraftKings and Golden Nugget your first Venmo deposit has to be made in the app, not on desktop.
- Enter the amount and tap the Venmo button. On a desktop at BetRivers, a QR code opens Venmo on your phone.
- Approve it in Venmo with Agree and Complete. BetMGM says approval takes 10-20 seconds.
- Check your balance. DraftKings says Venmo deposits process immediately.

Never Send a Casino Money Inside Venmo
DraftKings and Golden Nugget both refuse Venmo transfers sent from the Venmo app, because of the risk of lost deposits. FanDuel puts it more bluntly: “Do not send money to anyone in the Venmo app to fund your FanDuel account.” A personal payment also has no Purchase Protection, so anyone asking you to pay a casino that way is a red flag.
How to Withdraw Casino Winnings to Venmo
Make a Venmo deposit first. DraftKings, Golden Nugget and FanDuel won’t show Venmo as a withdrawal option until you have, and BetMGM lets you withdraw more than you deposited once Venmo is connected. Pick Venmo on the withdrawal page, enter the amount and wait for the casino’s review.
Then the money lands in your Venmo balance, not your bank. DraftKings and Golden Nugget say so in plain words. From there a standard transfer to your bank is free and takes 1 to 3 business days, or an Instant Transfer costs 1.75%, capped at $25. Our guide to how to withdraw casino winnings covers the review step that comes before it.
Venmo Withdrawal Times by Casino
Venmo withdrawal times vary more between casinos than between payment methods, because the clock only starts once the casino has approved your request and each operator runs its own review before that, so the same Venmo account can be paid within 30 minutes at one site and take up to 2 days at another. This is what each operator publishes.
| Operator | Venmo payout after approval | Largest single withdrawal |
| BetRivers | Within 30 minutes | n/a |
| FanDuel | Up to 24 hours | n/a |
| DraftKings | Up to 2 days | $20,000 |
| Golden Nugget | Up to 2 business days | $20,000 |
| BetMGM | After its internal procedure | n/a |
| Caesars | After its security review | n/a |

The BetMGM Withdrawal Rule
BetMGM and Borgata run a closed-loop rule. If Venmo is your highest-value deposit method over the last three months, you have to withdraw an amount equal to your Venmo deposits back to Venmo before any other method opens up. It’s worth knowing before you mix Venmo with a card.
Funding a Venmo Casino Deposit
The money behind a Venmo deposit matters as much as Venmo itself. Each operator is strict about where the funds come from, and a card-funded payment is the most common reason a deposit fails.
| Operator | Venmo balance | Linked bank account | Linked debit or credit card |
| FanDuel | Yes | Yes | No |
| Caesars | n/a | Yes, verified accounts only | No |
| BetMGM | Yes, if it covers the deposit | Yes | n/a |
| DraftKings | Yes, an existing balance is required | n/a | n/a |
Why Casinos Refuse Card-Funded Venmo
A card behind Venmo turns a deposit into a card payment for gambling, and Caesars says linked credit or debit cards “cannot be used to fund real-money gaming accounts”. Venmo also charges 3% to send money with a credit card. Link your bank, and on FanDuel you can switch the funding source later in Venmo under Settings, Connected Businesses.
Venmo vs PayPal and Cash App at US Casinos
Venmo vs Cash App and PayPal at regulated casinos isn’t close. Venmo and PayPal have full support at most operators, while only two of the operators I checked take Cash App. Here’s the same set of casinos side by side.
| Operator | Venmo | PayPal | Cash App |
| DraftKings | Both ways, up to 2 days | Both ways, up to 2 days | Cash App Pay both ways, up to 2 days |
| FanDuel | Both ways, within 24 hours | Both ways, within 24 hours | Deposit only |
| BetRivers | Within 30 minutes of approval | Within 30 minutes of approval | Not listed |
| Caesars | Deposits and winnings | Most withdrawals the same day | Not listed |
| Bally Bet | Not listed | Deposits, $10 to $5,000 | Deposits only, $10 to $4,500 |
Venmo or PayPal?
They’re run by the same company and they behave almost the same at casinos. I’d use whichever one your bank account is already linked to. Our PayPal casinos page covers PayPal, and our Cash App casinos page explains why Cash App is so much harder to use.
Sweepstakes Casinos and Venmo
Sweepstakes casinos that take Venmo don’t exist among the brands I checked. A search of 11 sweeps help centers, McLuck, Pulsz, Spree, Hello Millions and PlayFame among them, returns nothing for Venmo at all, and Bally Bet’s help center is the same. Crown Coins goes further and lists Venmo, along with PayPal and Cash App, among the payment apps it won’t normally accept for bank redemptions.
That fits PayPal’s policy, which names sweepstakes among the activities that need its approval. You can still buy Gold Coins with the Venmo Mastercard, a debit card that works wherever debit Mastercard is accepted, if the sweeps site takes debit cards. Prizes come back by bank transfer, Skrill or gift card instead.
Sweeps Sites That Ask for a Venmo Payment
Some apps ask you to pay a person’s Venmo for credits. Those aren’t sweepstakes casinos and they aren’t licensed, and a personal payment has no Purchase Protection. Our guide to sweepstakes casinos lists the real ones, and our page on Fire Kirin XYZ explains how the unlicensed fish apps and their agents work.
Why Was My Venmo Casino Deposit Declined?
A declined Venmo casino deposit almost always comes down to the funding source, a limit, your location or a mismatch between the two accounts. Check these in order.
- A card is funding it: FanDuel says Venmo will not work with a linked debit or credit card, and Caesars only takes Venmo deposits from a verified bank account.
- Your Venmo account isn’t verified: DraftKings and Golden Nugget cap unverified accounts at $299.99 a week.
- You’re over the limit: $4,999.99 a deposit and $19,999.99 a week at DraftKings and Golden Nugget.
- You’re on desktop for the first time: DraftKings and Golden Nugget need your first Venmo deposit in the app.
- You’re in an excluded state: FanDuel’s Venmo is off on the Mohegan Reservation in Connecticut and in Tennessee.
- The names don’t match: DraftKings and Golden Nugget want a personal Venmo account in your name, and refuse business accounts.
- Your bank said no: Caesars warns that some banks won’t approve gaming transactions.
- Venmo flagged it: Venmo says a declined payment can come from its automated security flags, and Resorts warns that repeated deposits to the same casino can look suspicious, so wait a while before you try again.

What to Do After a Decline
Check the funding source first, because it’s the fix most people need. Then try again in the casino app rather than on desktop. If it still fails, the casino’s support team can see why, and Venmo’s own line is (855) 812-4430. Our guide to a declined casino deposit covers card and bank declines too.
Venmo Fees and Limits for Casino Players
Venmo fees at casinos are close to zero if you’re patient. BetMGM charges nothing for Venmo deposits, and Venmo charges nothing for online purchases. The costs start when you move winnings out.
| What you’re doing | Fee or limit |
| Venmo deposit at BetMGM | No charge |
| Paying a business online | No fee from Venmo |
| Standard transfer to your bank | Free, 1 to 3 business days |
| Instant Transfer | 1.75%, minimum $0.25, maximum $25, in minutes |
| Sending money with a credit card | 3% |
| Currency | USD only at BetMGM |
What Does an Instant Transfer Cost?
A $1,000 withdrawal costs $17.50 to move to your bank instantly, and from about $1,429 upward the fee stops at $25. I’d take the free standard transfer unless you need the money today. Our breakdown of casino payment fees compares Venmo with every other method.
Responsible Gambling With Venmo
Responsible Gambling starts in your Venmo settings. A casino you’ve connected, like FanDuel, shows up under Connected Businesses, and FanDuel’s support team will unlink Venmo from your account if you ask. Set a deposit limit in the casino app before you connect anything.
If gambling has stopped being fun, call or text 1-800-MY-RESET, the National Problem Gambling Helpline, at any hour. Our Responsible Gambling page lists the limit and self-exclusion tools casinos offer as well.
Venmo Casinos FAQ
Which online casinos accept Venmo?
DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Borgata, Caesars, BetRivers and Golden Nugget all take Venmo for deposits and pay winnings back to it, in the states where online casinos are legal. Their help centers list Venmo in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia.
Can you withdraw casino winnings to Venmo?
Yes, at every regulated operator on this page, after you make a Venmo deposit first. DraftKings and Golden Nugget send it to your Venmo balance, not your bank. BetRivers pays within 30 minutes of approval, FanDuel within 24 hours and DraftKings within 2 days.
Do sweepstakes casinos accept Venmo?
Not the ones I checked. None of the 11 sweeps help centers I searched mentions Venmo, and Crown Coins won’t redeem prizes to a Venmo account. You can still buy Gold Coins with the Venmo Mastercard where a site takes debit cards.
Why is my Venmo casino deposit declined?
The usual causes are a card funding your Venmo payment, an unverified account capped at $299.99 a week, a first deposit on desktop instead of the app, or an excluded state. FanDuel and Caesars only accept Venmo backed by a bank account.
How much can I deposit with Venmo at a casino?
DraftKings and Golden Nugget take up to $4,999.99 per deposit and $19,999.99 per week from a verified Venmo account, and $299.99 a week from an unverified one. Caesars sets a $5 minimum for digital deposits in every state.
Does Venmo allow gambling?
Only with approved, legal merchants. Venmo’s user agreement links to PayPal’s Acceptable Use Policy, which requires pre-approval for gambling and allows it only where operator and customers are in states where it is legal. Illegal gambling is prohibited.
How long do Venmo casino withdrawals take?
From 30 minutes to 2 days after the casino approves them. BetRivers says within 30 minutes, FanDuel up to 24 hours, and DraftKings and Golden Nugget up to 2 days. Moving it on to your bank is free in 1 to 3 business days.
Is there a fee to use Venmo at a casino?
BetMGM charges nothing for Venmo deposits and Venmo charges nothing for online purchases. You only pay if you fund Venmo with a credit card, at 3%, or use Instant Transfer to your bank, at 1.75% capped at $25.
