BetMGM Casino Review 2026

BetMGM Casino State by State

BetMGM Casino is live in four states. It is the same company in each, BetMGM, LLC of Jersey City, but it runs under a different land casino’s license and answers to a different regulator every time. Our US online casinos guide covers the law state by state.

Licensing & Security

BetMGM is a joint venture between MGM Resorts International and Entain, formed in July 2018. MGM Resorts holds 50% and shares control with Entain, so big decisions need both owners to agree. The business is a large one, with net revenue of $2.8 billion in 2025.

It also runs a family of sister casinos, and they’re easy to mix up. Borgata Online, PartyCasino and Wheel of Fortune Casino all sit on the same Borgata license in New Jersey, and Borgata Online runs in Pennsylvania too. A time-out on your BetMGM account blocks you at those brands as well, which tells you how closely they’re tied.

Licenses by State

• New Jersey: runs under the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa license, regulated by the Division of Gaming Enforcement.
• Pennsylvania: BetMGM, LLC holds License No. 115293 and runs under Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course. It has been live since December 4, 2020.
• Michigan: runs under MGM Grand Detroit, regulated by the Michigan Gaming Control Board.
• West Virginia: holds iGaming license IGP 002 from the West Virginia Lottery and runs under The Greenbrier.
• Connecticut: BetMGM isn’t there. Only two casino apps are licensed in the state.

Encryption & Security

You can’t deposit or play until BetMGM has verified your name, date of birth, Social Security number and address, and the name has to match your driver’s license or passport exactly. Sign-up also asks for your email, gender and phone number. That’s standard for a licensed American casino, and it’s the price of playing somewhere a regulator can step in.

Two-factor login is optional, which is a weak spot, so switch it on yourself in your account settings. On a computer the site uses the GeoComply plug-in to confirm you’re inside the state, and you can log in from anywhere but cannot play outside a legal state. Games are tested by the Division of Gaming Enforcement in New Jersey, and by independent labs approved by the regulator in Michigan and West Virginia.

Reputation & Player Reviews

The picture is mixed. The casino app is rated 4.7 from 148K ratings on the App Store and 4.4 from 42.9K reviews on Google Play, with more than a million downloads. On Trustpilot, BetMGM as a whole scores 1.1 from 1,982 reviews, and that page covers the sportsbook and Poker room as well as the casino.

Regulators have fined it, and two of the cases matter to casino players. Pennsylvania fined BetMGM $260,905 for 152 instances where a self-excluded person was allowed to gamble. New Jersey added a $106,000 penalty in June 2026 for breaking self-exclusion rules and ignoring wagering limits players had set.

Pennsylvania also fined it $100,000 in March 2026 over weak fraud and identity checks. I’d rather play somewhere regulators catch this than somewhere nobody looks, but it’s a poor record on the tools that are meant to protect people.

General Terms

You get one account per person, and disputes go to binding individual arbitration unless you opt out. If support can’t settle a complaint you can take it to the state regulator, and how you do that, and how long an idle account lasts, depends on the state.

• New Jersey: an account goes dormant after one year. Complaints go through the Division of Gaming Enforcement’s Internet Gaming Dispute Form.
• Pennsylvania: dormant after two years, and the funds go to the Pennsylvania Treasury after one more. The Gaming Control Board takes complaints on 717-346-8300.
• Michigan: dormant after three years with no login. The Gaming Control Board is on 313-456-4100.
• West Virginia: dormant after 16 months. The West Virginia Lottery is on 800-982-2274.

With BetMGM, your state decides how good the welcome is. In New Jersey the spin winnings are yours straight away, and in the other three you face 10x wagering in three days. The rewards program is the real reason to play here, because your points can turn into nights at MGM resorts.

Welcome Bonus

New players get up to 1,000 bonus spins for a first deposit of $10, plus a daily spin of a prize wheel for seven days. You do not need a promo code. Depositing more than $10 earns you nothing extra, so there’s no reason to put in more than you planned to.

The words “up to” matter. You get 100 spins with your deposit, and the other 900 arrive 100 a day for the next nine days, but only if you log in each day. Each batch is good for three days once it’s active, and the spins only work on a named list of Slots that starts with Bellagio Fountains of Fortune.

The wheel pays one of four prizes, which are a 25% deposit match up to $50, 50% up to $100, 100% up to $200, or 500 rewards points. There’s no no-deposit bonus at the moment, and it’s one welcome offer per household across the casino, sportsbook and Poker room.

Ongoing Bonuses

The regular promotions change by state, and BetMGM lists them separately for each one. Current examples are the Arcade Claw Machine, where a $25 wager on any casino game gives you a shot at up to $5,000, and a $50,000 monthly prize draw on BetMGM’s own Originals games.

Refer a friend and you can both earn a $100 bonus. If you’re only going to chase one of these, make it the free-to-play ones, because they cost you nothing to enter.

VIP / Loyalty Program

This is BetMGM’s best feature. You join BetMGM Rewards automatically, and points you earn online can be spent at BetMGM or converted into MGM Rewards and Marriott Bonvoy points, for room nights and experiences at more than 20 MGM resorts.

• Sapphire: where everyone starts, from 0 Tier Credits.
• Pearl: 20,000 Tier Credits, with a 10% points bonus.
• Gold: 75,000 Tier Credits, with a 20% points bonus.
• Platinum: 200,000 Tier Credits, with a 30% points bonus.
• Noir: by invitation, with a 40% points bonus.

Slots and instant-win games earn up to 20 points and Tier Credits per $100 wagered, jackpot Slots up to 10 and live tables up to four. The points have no cash value, so think of them as hotel and dining credit, and your balance follows you across all four states.

Wagering Requirements

This is where your state matters most. In New Jersey, winnings from the bonus spins have no wagering requirement and you can cash them out straight away. In Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia the same winnings carry 10x wagering, and you get three days to finish it.

A deposit match from the wheel is tougher everywhere. It needs 15x the bonus, your deposit and winnings stay locked until you’re done, and Baccarat, Roulette, Craps and Crash games don’t count at all. Slots count in full toward bonus wagering, most Table Games and live dealer games count 20%, and standard Blackjack counts 10%.

Bonuses by State

• New Jersey: no wagering on spin winnings. The offer runs until March 14, 2027.
• Pennsylvania: 10x wagering on spin winnings within three days. The offer ends sooner, on December 31, 2026.
• Michigan: 10x wagering on spin winnings within three days, until March 14, 2027.
• West Virginia: 10x wagering on spin winnings within three days, until March 14, 2027. The free Wizard of Oz Daily Prize Vault runs here too, with a top prize of a $2,500 casino bonus each day.

Slots

BetMGM says it has more than 3,000 online casino games, and that is a lot of games by any standard. Slots make up most of it, with a long row of exclusives you won’t find elsewhere, including games built on Family Feud and The Price Is Right, and what BetMGM calls the first NHL slot.

RTP can differ from one state to another on the same game, so check the rules screen where you’re playing. BetMGM’s own MGM Grand Millions, for example, is listed at 91.81%, which is low, because part of every bet feeds its jackpots.

Table Games

The Table Games section covers Blackjack, Roulette, Craps and Baccarat, with exclusive BetMGM versions of the main ones. In Pennsylvania you’ll also find games themed on the Steelers, the 76ers and the Eagles, and Michigan has Detroit Lions games.

BetMGM Poker runs in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan, and since April 2025 the three states have shared one player pool, which means busier tables and bigger tournaments than a single state could fill.

Live Casino

All four states have a Live Casino with real dealers. The Pennsylvania lobby is typical, with Live Blackjack, Live Roulette and game shows in their own tabs, and BetMGM-branded tables such as BetMGM Baccarat and BetMGM Infinite Blackjack alongside the standard ones.

New Jersey adds a Live Slots tab that the other states don’t have. If live tables are the main reason you play, New Jersey has the fullest version.

Jackpots and Exclusives

Jackpots are BetMGM’s signature. The casino awarded more than $122 million in progressive jackpots in 2025, and it paid $6.5 million to a single winner in August 2024, which it calls the largest online progressive jackpot in history.

The newest twist is SideBet Jackpots, an optional $0.10 side wager on more than 200 games that plays for four progressive tiers, from a $100 Mini up to a Mega that starts at $500,000. It launched in Michigan in September 2026 and has its own tab in West Virginia.

Games by State

• New Jersey: the biggest catalog, at more than 3,300 games by BetMGM’s count, plus Poker and the Live Slots tab.
• Pennsylvania: Poker, live dealer and Steelers, 76ers and Eagles themed games.
• Michigan: Poker, Detroit Lions themed games and SideBet Jackpots.
• West Virginia: more than 1,000 Slots and Table Games, with SideBet Jackpots. There’s no Poker and no Arcade tab here.

Deposits

The minimum deposit is $10, and BetMGM has plenty of ways to pay. Every state has PayPal, Play+, VIP Preferred, PayNearMe, Apple Pay, online banking, bank wire, BetMGM gift cards and the MGM Rewards Mastercard, which earns one point and one Tier Credit per $1 deposited.

BetMGM does not charge cashier fees. If you fund with a credit card, though, your card issuer may treat it as a cash advance and charge you for it, so a debit card or PayPal is the safer choice.

Withdrawals

Here’s the part to plan around. Every withdrawal goes through an internal review of up to five days, and only then does the payment method’s own time begin. Until it’s approved and sent, you can reverse a withdrawal yourself.

BetMGM can also send your money back to the method you deposited with before it opens up other options. So if speed matters, deposit with the method you’d like to be paid by.

Limits and Rules

Your withdrawal limits are shown in the cashier once you’re logged in, and they depend on the method. Winnings from a bonus can’t be withdrawn until you’ve met its deposit and wagering rules, which is the most common reason a cash-out gets stuck.

On tax, BetMGM sends W-2G and 1099 forms when your wins reach the reporting thresholds, and the W-2Gs can be downloaded by January 31. The tax on what you win is yours to pay.

Payments by State

• New Jersey: credit and debit cards, Venmo, and cash at the Borgata cage, where you can also collect a withdrawal in cash, chips or a check. Uncollected cage withdrawals are canceled after seven days. Prepaid and gift cards are capped at $500 a day, and New Jersey is the only state with check by mail.
• Pennsylvania: debit cards only, with no credit cards and no cage. Venmo isn’t on the state’s banking page. Accounts under six months old are limited to three cards and three bank accounts.
• Michigan: debit cards only, plus Venmo and cash at the MGM Grand Detroit cage, where a withdrawal has to be collected within seven days.
• West Virginia: credit and debit cards and Venmo, with no cage.

Website Design and UI

The lobby is dark, polished and busy. Tabs across the top take you to Live Dealer, New Games, Jackpots, Exclusive and Table Games, and a banner of recent big wins sits above the featured games. One account works in every state, with the same login, cash balance and rewards balance.

The menu changes with your state. New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan have Poker and Arcade tabs next to Sports and Casino, and West Virginia has neither.

Mobile App

The casino has its own app, separate from the sportsbook. BetMGM Casino is rated 4.7 from 148K ratings on the App Store and 4.4 from 42.9K reviews on Google Play. The iPhone app is 128.1 MB and needs iOS 18.0 or later, and the Android app was last updated on September 1, 2026.

The App Store rates it 18+, but don’t read anything into that. You have to be 21 to play in all four states.

Customer Service

Live chat runs 24 hours a day through the contact page and inside the app. Phone lines and email teams work from 11 AM to 8 PM Eastern, and each state has its own.

• New Jersey: 609-248-9531, or [email protected].
• Pennsylvania: 267-825-7023, or [email protected].
• Michigan: a phone line and [email protected].
• West Virginia: email only, at [email protected].

If you lock yourself out with too many wrong passwords, you’ll have to email customer service to get back in.

Responsible Gambling

You can set daily limits, take a time-out or self-exclude from your account details, and BetMGM runs the GameSense program in every state. A time-out lasts at least three days, and there’s no limit on how many times you can self-exclude. Our Responsible Gambling guide lists more help.

Nationally, you can call or text 1-800-MY-RESET, the National Problem Gambling Helpline. Each state also has its own helpline and its own self-exclusion list, and the state list covers every licensed casino there, which is the stronger step given BetMGM’s fines over its own self-exclusion checks.

Help and Self-Exclusion by State

• New Jersey: 1-800-GAMBLER, run by the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey. The Division of Gaming Enforcement keeps the self-exclusion list.
• Pennsylvania: 1-800-GAMBLER. The Gaming Control Board’s Self-Exclusion Program runs for one year, five years or life, and you can enroll on 717-346-8300.
• Michigan: 1-800-270-7117 or 1-800-GAMBLER. The Michigan Gaming Control Board keeps the self-exclusion list.
• West Virginia: 1-800-GAMBLER, the Problem Gamblers Help Network of West Virginia. The Lottery Commission keeps the self-exclusion list.
