Hard Rock Bet Goes Live in Ontario

Hard Rock Bet launched in Ontario on July 22, its first market anywhere outside the United States and the brand’s opening move into international online gaming.

The app became Ontario’s 48th licensed operator, going live after the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario granted registration in May. It pairs a full sportsbook with more than 3,000 casino games spanning slots, table games and live dealer.

Built on an Ottawa Footprint

CEO Marlon Goldstein tied the launch to Hard Rock’s physical presence in the province. The company opened the $350 million Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa in July 2025, giving the brand a land-based anchor in the market before the app arrived.

Goldstein framed the Ontario debut as the brand’s first step beyond US borders. Hard Rock already operates in across Florida, New Jersey and other states. Ontario, with its mature regulated market, is the logical first stop north of the border.

Hard Rock Bet Enters a Crowded Field

Ontario opened its regulated iGaming market in April 2022 and has since become one of the most competitive online gambling markets in North America. Hard Rock now joins nearly 50 licensed operators fighting for share in a province where handle keeps climbing quarter after quarter.

The launch lands as Canadian iGaming expands fast on two fronts. Ontario continues to set records, while Alberta only opened its own regulated market on July 13. Hard Rock’s arrival adds another heavyweight brand to an Ontario roster that already includes most major North American operators.

The company also leans on its loyalty program, Unity, which ties online play to rewards across Hard Rock hotels, casinos and cafes worldwide. That cross-property hook is central to how the brand plans to stand out in a market where game libraries and odds are broadly similar across apps.

Hard Rock Bet is live now for players physically located in Ontario and aged 19 or older.
