PlayNow Manitoba is the MBLL’s online casino, sportsbook, poker and lottery, wrapped into a single account. It launched 28 January 2013, making Manitoba the second province after BC to license the PlayNow platform.

The operator is Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries, a provincial Crown corporation that handles gambling and liquor distribution in Manitoba. The MBLL has shown no public movement on adding e-wallets, which matches the broader pattern of Canadian provincial monopolies sticking to direct banking methods.

Identity verification at signup runs through Equifax. Verification usually clears in seconds. If the automated check can’t confirm you, the fallback is a document upload with photo ID plus a recent utility bill, usually clearing within 24 hours. KYC is mandatory before your first withdrawal, which is why the cashier hasn’t held up any of my withdrawals.

On security, PlayNow Manitoba runs TLS 1.3, bcrypt password storage, optional two-factor authentication via SMS or authenticator app, and session timeout after 30 minutes of inactivity. It’s standard stuff but you should still opt into the two-factor protection that’s actively prompted at signup.

Honestly, for my money PlayNow Manitoba is the right pick if you’re a Manitoba resident who wants the regulated provincial option in 2026. The 24/7 live chat, native apps, shared-liquidity poker room, integrated sportsbook and 18+ age all add up to a strong provincial-monopoly product. The MBLL gets the benefit of BCLC’s mature platform without needing to build one in-house, and Manitoba players get the BC feature depth with Manitoba-specific Responsible Gambling integration.
