Editorial and commercial

What each team can and can’t do

Editorial decides

  • Every score and weight, and the confidence band once it launches
  • Ranking order in every list on the site, which follows the score
  • Which casinos go on the blacklist, based on the score or a direct complaint
  • When a casino comes off the blacklist
  • Which complaints are published, once the complaint log opens
  • How a published complaint is worded

Commercial cannot

  • Give editorial input on a review, or delay one
  • Change a score, a weight or a position in a list
  • Have a review pulled, softened or held back from a blacklist
  • Promise a casino coverage, a rating or a date

Writers and editors aren’t paid, rated or given bonuses based on how much a casino earns us.

How a name gets on a review

Rules for everyone who publishes here

  1. Tested with our own money

Every test account is opened and funded by us. If a casino offers to top one up, it gets a no in writing and the offer is logged.

  2. Checked and signed off

A reviewer writes it, a second person checks the license and the figures, and an editor signs off the score before it publishes.

  3. Corrections in public

When we get something wrong, we check it against the source and put it right. Significant corrections are noted on the page, with the date.
