Best Casinos in Las Vegas
The best casinos in Las Vegas aren’t always the ones with the loudest billboards. They’re the floors where the numbers back up the reputation, like Wynn’s 255 Table Games, the 2,450 slot machines across The Venetian and The Palazzo, or the 71 Poker tables at Aria. I’ve built this list on the Nevada Gaming Control Board’s own count of every machine and table in the state, as of June 30, 2026, so what you read here is what the regulator counted, not what a brochure claims.
Nine of my picks are on the Strip and one is downtown on Fremont Street, where Circa won’t let anyone under 21 through the door, hotel included. Further down there’s a short guide to Reno and Lake Tahoe, because The Row in Reno has more gaming space than any casino in Las Vegas. The one thing to know before you pack is the age rule. It’s 21 for the whole gaming floor in Nevada, and that covers hanging around on it, not only playing.
Before You Head Out for the Night, Here's What's Legal on Your Phone
You can’t play Slots, Blackjack or Roulette online for real money anywhere in Nevada, not even from a suite on the Strip. The state licenses online Poker and sports betting, and that is where it stops. The Nevada Gaming Commission’s list of licensed interactive gaming operators has exactly two names on it, WSOP and Real Gaming, and both are Poker sites. Our Nevada gambling laws guide explains why the state drew the line there.
If you want real online casino games, you have to be physically inside a state that licenses them, such as New Jersey or Pennsylvania, and our US gambling law guide maps the rest. In Nevada you can still warm up with a Poker tournament or a bet on the game before dinner, and these are the three apps I’d use.
WSOP Online
WSOP Online is the Poker site I’d open first, because it’s the only place in the US where you can win an official WSOP gold bracelet without leaving home. The Nevada Gaming Commission licenses it under Caesars Interactive Entertainment, and it also runs for players in New Jersey, Michigan and Pennsylvania.
Caesars sold the WSOP brand on October 29, 2024 and uses it in the US under a license, so nothing changes for you at the table. The site has deposit limits and self-exclusion built in, and if you’re in Nevada this fall, the WSOP Circuit stops at Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe from October 22 to November 2, 2026.
Caesars Sportsbook
Caesars Sportsbook is the easiest sports app to live with here, because Caesars runs 541 locations in Nevada, from the full-service book at Caesars Palace to PayNearMe deposit points at 7-Eleven. Every bet earns Caesars Rewards, and you have to be 21 to use it.
It’s the one to pick if you’re staying at a Caesars resort, since those Reward Credits can go on dining, getaways and sports tickets as well as bets. It is a sports app, not an online casino, so do not expect Slots or Blackjack inside it in Nevada.
Circa Sports
Circa Sports is the Las Vegas bettor’s app. You have to register in person at a Circa Sports location before it works, you can only bet while you’re physically in Nevada, and you need to be 21 with a valid photo ID.
The payoff for the trip downtown is the three-story sportsbook at Circa, which Circa calls the world’s largest and keeps open 24/7. BetMGM is here too, and MGM says customers who sign up while visiting one of its resorts can bring their digital wallet home with them.
The Best Casinos in Las Vegas at a Glance
Here’s how my picks for the best casinos in Las Vegas compare. The slot, table and Poker counts come from the Nevada Gaming Control Board’s nonrestricted count report as of June 30, 2026, and the room counts come from each operator’s latest annual filing wherever there is one.
| Casino | Where | Run by | Slots | Tables | Poker tables | Hotel rooms | Opened |
| Bellagio | The Strip | MGM Resorts International | 1,366 | 165 | 52 | 3,933 | 1998 |
| Wynn Las Vegas | The Strip | Wynn Resorts | 1,600 | 255 | 49 | 4,748 | 2005 |
| Caesars Palace | The Strip | Caesars Entertainment | 1,400 | 180 | 19 | 3,980 | 1966 |
| The Venetian Resort | The Strip | Apollo Global Management | 2,450 | 254 | 51 | About 7,100 | 1999 |
| Aria | The Strip, CityCenter | MGM Resorts International | 1,277 | 150 | 71 | 5,497 | 2009 |
| The Cosmopolitan | The Strip | MGM Resorts International | 1,221 | 126 | None | 3,032 | 2010 |
| MGM Grand | The Strip | MGM Resorts International | 1,275 | 148 | 18 | 6,488 | 1993 |
| Resorts World Las Vegas | The Strip | Genting Group | 1,260 | 130 | None | 3,506 | 2021 |
| Fontainebleau Las Vegas | The Strip | Fontainebleau Development | 1,330 | 146 | 5 | 3,644 | 2023 |
| Circa | Downtown, Fremont Street | Derek and Greg Stevens | 1,303 | 48 | None | 677 | 2020 |
How I Picked These 10
I started with the resorts people fly in for, then checked each one against the regulator’s numbers rather than its own marketing. The floor had to be big enough to matter, there had to be something worth doing between sessions, and I wanted a mix of old Vegas, new Vegas and one downtown casino. No casino paid to be here.
Where an operator’s figure and the state’s figure disagree, I’ve gone with the state’s, because the best casinos in Las Vegas should be judged on what’s actually on the floor, and I say so in each profile. If you’re new to the games, our casino games explained page covers the basics before you sit down.

- 7.75% kept on Slots: by Strip casinos over the same 12 months, against 8.36% downtown.
1. Bellagio
Bellagio is the best all-round casino in Las Vegas, and of all the best casinos in Las Vegas it’s the one I’d send a first-timer to. It opened on October 15, 1998, Blackstone owns the building and MGM Resorts International runs it, and the state counts 1,366 slot machines, 165 Table Games and 52 Poker tables on the floor.
The table mix tells you who Bellagio is for. There are 42 Baccarat tables and 71 dealing Blackjack, and the 52-table Poker room is one of the biggest in the state. The hotel has 3,933 rooms, and the fountains play across an 8.5-acre lake out front.
I’d book an early dinner facing the lake, watch the Fountains of Bellagio from the bar and then play, because nowhere else on the Strip does the classic, grown-up version of Las Vegas quite as well as this one does, and that feeling hasn’t faded in almost three decades.
2. Wynn Las Vegas
Wynn Las Vegas is the biggest casino in Las Vegas by gaming space, and it has the most Table Games in Nevada. The state lists 196,232 square feet of gaming space, 255 Table Games, 1,600 slot machines and 49 Poker tables, which puts Wynn ahead of every other floor on this page.
Wynn Resorts owns and runs it. Wynn Las Vegas opened in April 2005 and its sister tower, Encore, followed in December 2008, and together they have 4,748 rooms, 35 places to eat and drink and a golf course. Wynn’s own annual filing puts the casino at about 199,000 square feet with 231 Table Games and 1,558 slot machines, and the state’s newer count beats it on machines and on tables.
It’s the floor for Blackjack with room to breathe, since 107 of those tables deal it. The private salons and the sky casino are there if you’re playing big, and there’s a race and sports book for the game.
3. Caesars Palace
Caesars Palace is the Strip’s original big-name casino. It opened on August 5, 1966, Vici Properties owns it now and Caesars Entertainment runs it, and the state counts 1,400 slot machines, 180 Table Games and 19 Poker tables.
Those 180 tables are the third-most in Nevada, and 63 of them deal Baccarat, more than at Bellagio or Wynn. The Poker room runs 24 hours, and the state counts the race and sports book as a location of its own. The hotel has 3,980 rooms, and Caesars’ filing gives the casino 124,500 square feet.
Come for a show at the Colosseum or a walk through the Forum Shops and stay for the tables. If you already earn Caesars Rewards on the sportsbook app, this is where those points feel most useful.
4. The Venetian Resort
The Venetian Resort is really two casinos, The Venetian and The Palazzo, joined into one floor and one gaming license. The state counts 2,450 slot machines across the pair, the most at any Strip resort, plus 254 Table Games and 51 Poker tables in 166,194 square feet of gaming space.
The Venetian opened on May 4, 1999 and The Palazzo followed in 2007. Vici Properties owns the buildings and Apollo Global Management runs them, and the two hotels share about 7,100 rooms. The resort calls its Poker room the largest in Las Vegas, but by the state’s count Paris Las Vegas has 75 Poker tables and Aria 71, against 51 here.
Free Lessons and a Giant Screen
What I like most is the free Craps lesson, Monday to Friday at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the Venetian pit, and the Yahoo Sportsbook‘s 1,700-square-foot LED wall, which can show 40 games at once. The dress code is resort casual, with shirts and shoes required and no swimwear on the floor.
5. Aria
Aria is the Poker player’s pick. The state counts 71 Poker tables here, second in Nevada only to Paris Las Vegas, plus 1,277 slot machines and 150 Table Games.
Aria opened on December 16, 2009 as the heart of CityCenter, and Blackstone owns it while MGM Resorts International runs it. MGM’s filing lists 5,497 rooms, and that includes 1,495 condo-hotel units at Vdara next door. The state gives the casino 152,644 square feet of gaming space.
If you play Poker, this is the room I’d sit down in first, because with 71 tables there is nearly always a game running at your stakes, and a modern floor that’s easy to find your way around makes a long session a lot more comfortable than it would be in some of the older resorts.
6. The Cosmopolitan
The Cosmopolitan is the Strip’s party casino, and it’s the one I’d pick for a night that’s more about the bars than the tables. It opened on December 15, 2010, MGM has run it since 2022, and the state counts 1,221 slot machines and 126 Table Games.
There is no Poker room in the state’s count, so card players should walk next door to Aria or Bellagio. The hotel has 3,032 rooms, and the state gives the casino 83,301 square feet of gaming space, which makes it one of the smaller floors on this list.
Start with a drink at The Chandelier, play a few hands at one of the 28 Baccarat tables and then see where the night goes.
7. MGM Grand
MGM Grand is the biggest hotel on this list, with 6,488 rooms including 1,728 at The Signature, and it’s still one of the biggest casinos in Las Vegas. It opened on December 18, 1993, Vici Properties owns it and MGM Resorts International runs it, and the state counts 1,275 slot machines, 148 Table Games and 18 Poker tables.
You’ll see MGM Grand’s casino quoted at 171,500 square feet, the size it opened with as the world’s largest. The state’s current figure is 156,524 square feet, and MGM’s own filing gives 144,000. Lists that still credit it with over 2,500 gaming machines and 139 tables are out of date too.
It’s the pick for a fight or a concert at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, because the arena is part of the resort and the tables are right there when the crowd spills out.
8. Resorts World Las Vegas
Resorts World Las Vegas opened on June 24, 2021 as the first new resort on the Strip since the Cosmopolitan. At $4.3 billion, it’s the most expensive resort ever built in Las Vegas. Genting Group owns and runs it, and the state counts 1,260 slot machines and 130 Table Games.
The 3,506 rooms are split across three Hilton hotels, and the Resorts World Theatre seats 5,000. The casino is often quoted at 117,000 square feet, but the state’s figure is 97,095, and there are no Poker tables in its count.
I’d pick it if you want one of the newest floors on the Strip and a show at the Resorts World Theatre on the same night.
9. Fontainebleau Las Vegas
Fontainebleau Las Vegas is the newest resort on this list. It opened on December 13, 2023 in a 67-story tower that sat unfinished for years after the project went into Chapter 11, and Fontainebleau Development owns it with Koch Real Estate Investments. The state counts 1,330 slot machines, 146 Table Games and 5 Poker tables.
It has 3,644 rooms, and the six-acre Oasis Pool has its own 2,300-square-foot gaming area. You’ll see the casino quoted at 173,000 square feet, but the state’s listing gives 106,267.
I’d go for a summer afternoon at the pool-side tables, then move inside when the sun drops.
10. Circa
Circa is the best casino in downtown Las Vegas. It’s also the one on this list where you need to be 21 just to check in, because the whole resort is adults-only. It opened on October 28, 2020 at 8 Fremont Street, and brothers Derek and Greg Stevens own it.
Circa says it has 1,350 slot machines and 55 Table Games, while the state’s June count gives 1,303 and 48. Some lists put the casino at just 8,002 square feet, which is a long way off, because the state’s figure is 100,152 square feet with the sportsbook included.
The real draw is the three-story sportsbook, which Circa calls the world’s largest, and the 677 rooms and suites stacked 35 floors above Fremont Street. I’d go on a football Sunday and get there early.
Beyond the Strip: Downtown and the Locals Casinos
Downtown Las Vegas is Fremont Street, and it’s smaller than the Strip but busier than you’d think. The state counted 10,235 slot machines and 330 Table Games downtown at June 30, 2026, and downtown casinos won $61,501,577 from players in August 2026, down 2.96% on a year earlier.
Where Do Las Vegas Locals Play?
The most slot machines in Nevada are not on the Strip at all. Red Rock Casino in Summerlin has 2,650, more than any resort on this page, and Durango, which opened in December 2023 at Interstate 215 and Durango Drive, has 2,420. Green Valley Ranch has 2,225, and Red Rock Resorts runs all three.
I’d drive out to Red Rock if you want Slots away from the Strip crowds. It opened in 2006 at Interstate 215 and Charleston Boulevard, and it has 68 Table Games and 20 Poker tables too.
Best Casinos in Reno, Lake Tahoe and the Rest of Nevada
Reno has the biggest gaming floor in Nevada, and it is not the casino that says so. The Row, three casinos that Caesars runs under one license, covers 219,950 square feet in the state’s listing, more than Wynn Las Vegas.
What Is the Best Casino in Reno?
The Row is Silver Legacy, Eldorado and Circus Circus Reno, with 2,080 slot machines, 80 Table Games and 13 Poker tables between them, and 4,060 hotel rooms. The Peppermill on South Virginia Street has 1,652 slot machines, 49 Table Games and 16 Poker tables, a smoke-free Poker room and 24/7 gaming. Atlantis, about three miles south of downtown, has 1,205 slot machines and 817 rooms.
Grand Sierra Resort calls itself Northern Nevada’s largest gaming floor, with 1,400 slot machines and 43 Table Games. The state’s listing gives it 94,722 square feet plus a 9,125-square-foot sportsbook, which puts it behind The Row and the Peppermill, and it counts 1,275 slot machines. For my money the Peppermill is the best casino in Reno, because it’s the one I’d actually want to spend a whole night in.
Reno’s casinos won $79,426,602 from players in August 2026, up 15.69% on a year earlier, and the city had 9,039 slot machines and 229 Table Games at June 30, 2026.
Lake Tahoe and Laughlin
At Stateline on Lake Tahoe’s south shore, Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe and Harrah’s Lake Tahoe share one license, with 1,475 slot machines, 104 Table Games and 39 Poker tables. Harrah’s Laughlin has 730 slot machines and 1,510 rooms, and Laughlin’s casinos won $39,871,185 in August 2026, up 9.92%.
What Is the Biggest Casino in Las Vegas?
By gaming space, the biggest casino in Las Vegas is Wynn Las Vegas, at 196,232 square feet in the Nevada Gaming Control Board’s fiscal 2025 listing. The Venetian Resort is next on the Strip at 166,194, then MGM Grand at 156,524, Bellagio at 156,000 and Aria at 152,644.
By slot machines the answer changes. The Venetian’s 2,450 lead the Strip, but Red Rock Casino in Summerlin has 2,650, the most at any single location in Nevada. By Table Games it’s Wynn again with 255, and by Poker tables it’s Paris Las Vegas with 75.
Why Do Other Lists Get the Size Wrong?
Plenty of lists still crown MGM Grand at 171,500 square feet, the size it opened with in 1993, when the state’s current figure is 156,524. They give Fontainebleau 173,000 and Resorts World 117,000, where the state lists 106,267 and 97,095, and Circa turns up at 8,002 square feet against the state’s 100,152.
And the biggest floor in Nevada is not in Las Vegas at all, because The Row in Reno covers 219,950 square feet. If you’re wondering how all that floor space pays for itself, read how casinos make money.
Where Do the Slots Pay Best in Las Vegas?
The best slot payouts in Las Vegas aren’t on the Strip, and they aren’t downtown either. The Nevada Gaming Control Board publishes what casinos keep from every dollar played through a slot machine, area by area. Over the 12 months to August 31, 2026, Strip casinos kept 7.75%, so a little over 92 cents of each dollar went back to players.
Downtown has a name for looser machines, but the Board’s numbers don’t back it up. Fremont Street casinos kept 8.36% over the same 12 months, which is more than the Strip did. The loosest Slots in town were in the Board’s Boulder Strip area, where casinos kept 6.55%, and North Las Vegas came in at 7.63%, which means you’ll get more play for your money away from the Strip than you will on it.
| Area | Casinos kept on Slots |
| Reno | 5.66% |
| Boulder Strip | 6.55% |
| All of Nevada | 7.14% |
| North Las Vegas | 7.63% |
| Las Vegas Strip | 7.75% |
| Downtown Las Vegas | 8.36% |
Do Penny Slots Pay Worse?
They do. Strip casinos kept 10.53% on penny machines over those 12 months and 7.17% on dollar machines, so the cheap-looking bet is the expensive one. I’d rather take my time on a dollar machine than grind a penny game all night. The Board reports these figures by area and never by casino, so treat any claim about the single loosest resort with care. If you’re new to them, our Slots guide explains how payback works.
Which Game in Las Vegas Has the Best Odds?
Blackjack is the Table Game where Las Vegas casinos keep the least, so it’s my answer for the game with the best odds. Over the 12 months to August 31, 2026, Strip casinos kept 11.91% of the money gambled at Blackjack, which the Nevada Gaming Control Board still lists as Twenty One, and they kept 16.90% at Craps and 17.92% at Roulette.
That figure is the hold, the share of the money gambled that the casino kept, and it isn’t the same thing as the house edge on one bet. It’s still a useful way to compare games, because it counts every hand, roll and spin that Strip casinos dealt over a full year and not the math on a single wager. Three Card Poker held 31.11% and Keno 30.47%, so I’d leave those two alone.
| Game | Strip casinos kept |
| Sports betting | 7.04% |
| Blackjack | 11.91% |
| Mini-Baccarat | 12.51% |
| Baccarat | 15.80% |
| Craps | 16.90% |
| Roulette | 17.92% |
| Pai Gow Poker | 21.43% |
| Let It Ride | 28.80% |
| Keno | 30.47% |
| Three Card Poker | 31.11% |
Baccarat is the game that pays for the Strip. It won casinos $1.53 billion in those 12 months, more than Blackjack and Craps put together, and the house kept 15.80% of what was gambled. Sports betting held just 7.04%, the lowest figure in the table.
Rules for a Night at a Las Vegas Casino
The one rule nobody bends in a Las Vegas casino is age. Nevada law says no one under 21 can play a game or a slot machine, bet at a race book or sportsbook, or even loiter where gaming happens, so if you’re traveling with kids, keep them moving and off the floor itself. Circa goes further and keeps the whole resort adults-only.
ID, Dress and Drinks
Carry a government photo ID, because The Venetian, for one, can ask anyone on the floor to show it. Dress codes are relaxed. At The Venetian it’s resort casual, shirts and shoes are required, and swimwear is not allowed on the floor. Drinks are free while you’re actively playing there, and servers walk the floor taking orders.
You can still smoke in parts of some casinos here. The Venetian has designated smoking and non-smoking areas, while the Peppermill in Reno runs a smoke-free Poker room and a non-smoking sportsbook, so ask before you sit down if smoke bothers you.
Is a Players Card Worth It?
Sign up for the players card before you play, because it costs nothing and it pays you back. At The Venetian, for example, the Venetian Rewards card earns points at any slot or Video Poker machine, and the dealer rates your table play when you hand it over. Those points turn into Slot Credits, or into resort comps for dining, the spa and suite upgrades.
Hours and Credit
Hours are rarely a problem. Caesars Palace’s Poker room runs 24 hours, Circa’s sportsbook is open 24/7, and in Reno the Peppermill advertises 24/7 gaming. If you play on credit, every Nevada casino that offers it must let you self-limit your access to credit and check cashing, and stop its marketing mail, under the state’s Regulation 5.170.
Who Runs and Regulates Las Vegas Casinos
Two state bodies regulate every Las Vegas casino. The Nevada Gaming Control Board, created by the 1955 Legislature, has three full-time members and investigates, licenses and polices the industry, while the Nevada Gaming Commission, created in 1959, has five part-time members and is the final authority on licensing.
The companies behind the floors are a short list. MGM Resorts International runs Bellagio, Aria, the Cosmopolitan and MGM Grand, Caesars Entertainment runs Caesars Palace and The Row, and Wynn Resorts runs Wynn. The landlords are often somebody else, with Vici Properties owning Caesars Palace, MGM Grand and The Venetian, and Blackstone owning Bellagio and Aria.
Nevada’s nonrestricted casinos won $1,266,105,114 from players in August 2026 alone, per the Board’s release of September 30, 2026, and the state collected $72,563,543 in percentage fees in September. For how the law works on the casino floor and on your phone, see our Nevada gambling laws guide.
Responsible Gambling
If gambling stops being fun, free, confidential help is a phone call away, day or night. These are the numbers Nevada casinos point to:
- National Problem Gambling Helpline: call or text 1-800-MY-RESET, run by the National Council on Problem Gambling, 24/7.
- Reno Problem Gambling Center: 775-284-5335, listed by the Peppermill.
Every licensed casino in Nevada has to post the helpline near its gaming and cage areas and train its floor staff, and you can ask the cage to cut off your credit and marketing. WSOP Online has deposit limits and self-exclusion built in, and the National Council on Problem Gambling’s Nevada page lists support groups for you and your family. But the simplest tool still works best, and that is deciding before you walk in how much you’re happy to lose, bringing that much in cash and leaving the cards in the hotel safe. Our Responsible Gambling guide covers the rest.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best casino in Las Vegas?
Bellagio is the best all-round casino in Las Vegas, with 1,366 slot machines, 165 Table Games and 52 Poker tables in the state’s June 2026 count, plus the Fountains of Bellagio out front. For sheer size, pick Wynn. For Poker, pick Aria.
What are the three biggest casinos in Las Vegas?
By gaming space, they are Wynn Las Vegas at 196,232 square feet, The Venetian Resort at 166,194 and MGM Grand at 156,524, all from the Nevada Gaming Control Board’s fiscal 2025 listing. Wynn also has 255 Table Games, the most in Nevada.
What is the $20 rule in Vegas?
It’s a tip, not a rule. You fold a $20 bill between your ID and credit card at hotel check-in and ask whether any complimentary upgrades are available. Nothing is guaranteed, and the desk clerk can always say no.
How old do you have to be to gamble in Las Vegas?
You must be 21. Nevada law bars anyone under 21 from playing games or slot machines, betting at a race book or sportsbook, or loitering where gaming takes place. Circa in downtown Las Vegas is adults-only across the whole resort.
Can you play at an online casino in Nevada?
No. Nevada licenses online Poker and sports betting, not online Slots or Table Games. The state’s list of licensed interactive gaming operators has two names, WSOP and Real Gaming, and both of them are Poker sites.
Which Las Vegas casino has the most slot machines?
On the Strip, The Venetian Resort, with 2,450 across The Venetian and The Palazzo. Off the Strip, Red Rock Casino in Summerlin has 2,650, the most at any single location in Nevada, per the state’s June 30, 2026 count.
Which game in Las Vegas has the best odds?
Of the main Table Games, Blackjack. Strip casinos kept 11.91% of the money gambled at Blackjack in the 12 months to August 31, 2026, against 16.90% at Craps and 17.92% at Roulette, per the Nevada Gaming Control Board. Three Card Poker held 31.11%.
Which Las Vegas casinos have the best slot payouts?
The Nevada Gaming Control Board reports what Slots keep by area, not by casino. In the 12 months to August 31, 2026, casinos kept 6.55% in its Boulder Strip area, 7.75% on the Strip and 8.36% downtown, so the Strip beat Fremont Street.
