Andrej’s been around since day one. Let’s just say that he could get around an online casino blindfolded. That’s not to say that he does, he’s a perfectionist at heart. Fine print? There is none with Andrej.

When it comes to the basic set up, The Dog House doesn't stand out by literally anything. This doesn't mean that this slot is terrible. It's just very average. The game is played on the standard set of 5 reels in 3 rows with a fixed number of 20 paylines.
If you want to speed things up, there is an option to use autoplay. Pragmatic used a high-end autoplay menu, which allows you to present things like max win and loss limits, apart from up to 100 automated spins. You can also activate quick spin and turbo spin in the same many. But since the game is already very fast-paced, you might not even need those options.
The stake limits are also within the industry averages. You can wager between £0.20 and £100 per spin, so regardless if you want to go high or low, The Dog House can offer you enough space to find a perfect bet size. Also, note that Pragmatic Play made sure that this slot looks good on both phones and tablets, feel be free to take it for a spin even on smaller screens.
The Dog House slot offers a great RTP rate of 96.51%, which is slightly above the industry standard of 96%. Again, this is good enough even if you're planning to commit long-term, but it's far from the best the market has to offer. If you dig a bit deeper, you'll find a bunch of slots that are much more favourable over longer stretches of playing time. But casual players shouldn't worry too much about these percentages, because RTP can make a difference only if you make at least a few thousands of spins.
On the other hand, note that The Dog House is a highly volatile slot game. It means that it's programmed to give a lesser number of winning payline, but compensate it with higher average awards. If we know that the main bonus round can bring you huge multipliers and dozens of free spins all in just a couple of turns, volatility of this size shouldn't come as a surprise.
If you're searching for a cartoonish looking slot with vibrant colours, you're in the right place. The Dog House seems like it just came out from an animated movie, with lots of bright colours and goofy symbols. The graphics are very crisp and modern looking, just like we would expect from newer releases.
The background resembles a yard of a house somewhere in a peaceful suburban neighbourhood, while the reels are designed to look like the real dog house. There aren't many moving parts here, just a couple of small animations in the background, such as gently swinging flowers or butterflies flying around.
The soundtrack in The Dog House slot is as cheerful as it gets. At one point we even found it a bit annoying. It resembles generic music you'll usually hear at amusement parks. Apart from that, you'll also hear a bunch of quirky slot noises when you hit the 'spin' button and when the reels stop, so everything we have already experienced many times before.
The overall impression of this slot is mostly positive. But the thing is that we haven't found anything that has blown our mind. If you want to try some similar slots, Wolf Club from NetEnt or Banana Rock from Play n’ Go would both be solid options.
Most of the symbols are, of course, dog-related. There are different types of dogs included on the reels, such as pugs and rottweilers, as well as some dog-related items, like collars. The lower paying signs are just redesigned card symbols. All of them are very detailed and has the same fluffy, cartoonish look, so it all fits in together very nicely. There are also wild and bonus symbols. Both of them come with a couple of special abilities, but more on that in the next chapter.
The Dog House slot comes with one main bonus rounds, but there are a few other goodies hidden below. Apart from being able to substitute for all other signs except the bonus, the wild symbols will also grant you a random 2x or 3x multiplier. In case one wild is part of the two combos, both ones are multiplied. Also, if there is a payline with two or more wilds included, the multipliers are added to each other. Note that the wild symbol can appear only on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th reel.
To trigger the free spins round, you'll have to land 3 bonus symbols on the reels 1, 3 and 5. Before the round begins, there will be a spin on the 3x3 matrix, which will determine the number of free games you'll get. Each symbol in the game can bring you between 1 and 3 bonus spins, meaning that you'll end up with anywhere in between 9 and 27 free games.
Each time you land a wild during the free spins, it will grant you a usual multiplier of up to 3x, just this time the wild becomes sticky and stays in place until the end of the bonus round. The max multiplier you can end up with is whooping 6.750x. But for that, you'll have to have a max number of sticky wilds on reels 2, 3 and 4 plus the full stacks of rottweiler symbols on reels 1 and 5. Note that this feature can't be retriggered.
The Dog House is a decent game with a few interesting bonus features. However, there is just nothing jaw-dropping about it. Almost everything is average. The graphics are crisp and detailed, but the design is far from innovative. Selection of bonuses is good, yet not something that will impress any of the seasoned casino players.
The conclusion is that Pragmatic Play did a good, but not a great job with The Dog House slot. So, if you have some spare time, it wouldn't hurt to give it a spin. In case you like cartoonish looking slots, this one may give you some fun playing time.
