The Details

The Deal or no Deal What's in your Box slot is played on a grid with 5 reels and 3 rows. There are 20 paylines in play. The game was released in November 2016, so it came out just a month before the TV show was taken off the air in the United Kingdom. The minimum bet that you can place is 0.2 coins and the maximum is 200. HTML5 technology means that you can play the game on mobile devices without the quality being affected in any way.

What’s the Deal or No Deal What's in your Box RTP?

The Deal or No Deal What's in your Box RTP is 92.54%, plus the Jackpot King progressive pot RTP. This is pretty typical when compared to other Blueprint slots with progressive jackpots. Slots O’Gold, for example, has an RTP of 92.48% plus the progressive jackpot. King Spin Deluxe, as another example, has an RTP of 93.02%. Other progressive jackpot slots include Mega Fortune, which has a base game RTP rate of 89.1% plus the progressive jackpot, as well as Mega Moolah, which has an RTP of 88.12% plus the jackpot.

Jackpot slots of this type are also highly volatile when it comes to trying to hit the jackpots, so watch out for that. We’ll take a closer look at how you can win the progressive jackpot later in this review.

Features Similar to the TV Show

The graphics and sound in this game mimic the visual appearance of the TV show. That does not mean that they are especially detailed, however. The reels are suspended in front of a vague backdrop that looks somewhat like TV studio lights. The main colour used is a garish shade of red. This is not a game that looks especially sophisticated or classy.

The music is also very similar to that used in the TV show. If you enjoyed watching Deal or No Deal on the TV, then you’ll probably enjoy the music in this game. It is a little repetitive and overly dramatic, at times, though, something that had us reaching for the mute button. The other sound used is effective enough, though it is hard to feel completely immersed in the world of the game. It all feels a bit flat when compared with the drama of the TV show.

Watch for the Phone in the Deal or No Deal What's in your Box Slot

The symbols used on the reels are all objects associated with the TV show. You will see mugs, envelopes, notebooks and the game’s signature boxes used as higher value symbols. They way they have presented fits with the game’s overall design, but they are not especially finely detailed. The lower value symbols are the usual selection of letters associated with playing card values.

The telephone is the game’s wild symbol, and this will substitute for all other standard value symbols to help you find winning combinations. The Deal or No Deal box is the game’s scatter symbol. This will trigger the bonus features – something we’ll look at in detail later on in this review. Overall, we have to say that the game does not look as classy as we were expecting. It would still be hard to criticise the way it looks and sounds too much, though

The Deal or No Deal What's in your Box Slot Bonus Features

There are no less than 5 bonus features in the Deal or No Deal What's in your Box slot. There’s also an extra Banker’s Bonus that can be triggered during the base game. The game is also part of the Jackpot King progressive jackpot network.

Banker’s Bonus Feature

During the base game in this slot, the Banker can all at any time. When the phone rings, you need to be ready to make a decision about which bonus to receive. As in the TV show, the Banker will give you a choice of 3 red boxes. You must choose one. You will then receive one of 5 possible boosts:

  • Random wilds (random symbols on the reels turn wild)
  • Mystery symbols (these are all the same symbol when they are revealed)
  • Respin streak (winning symbols lock in place during these respins)
  • Colossal symbols (symbols fill more than one space on the reels)
  • Bonus respins (some or all of the reels will spin to find wins for you)

Main Feature

The range of features on offer in this slot is its real strength. You trigger the game’s features when you spin in 3 or more of the iconic Deal or No Deal box on the reels. An interesting thing about this bonus is that you get the chance to make a deal with the Banker. If you don’t like the first bonus offer, you can trade it for the chance to see if you can pick up anything better. There is risk involved in this, of course. You can pick up a cash prize, though, even if your deal removes your bonus.

Here are the 5 different bonuses that you can play:

  1. Go All the Way
This game features the cash wall from the TV show. You need to pick a box to see if you travel up a trail on the blue side or the red side of the wall. You keep picking boxes on the trail until you reveal a prize. You are then presented with a final box. When you make your decision here you can receive the value of the place you reached on the blue trail, the red trail, or get the option to bank both.
  2. Trail of Wealth
This section is like a board game where you roll a dice to move around the screen. You can land on spaces that will give you multipliers. Additionally, you can also land on the phone icon – this will award you a bankers spin where you can pick up cash prizes, multipliers, a Super Bonus symbol, or access to another feature.

If you land on the question mark, the wheel spins and you will be awarded the chance to collect your prizes, to continue onwards, or to receive a mystery prize or a Super Bonus symbol. If you collect 3 Super Bonus symbols then the Banker will give you a cash bonus, a trail run or a multiplier.
  3. Seal of Success
This feature gives you 10 free spins that are played out on a different set of reels. If you collect 3 envelopes during these spins then 1 of the most valuable symbols will turn into a wild. For every one of these symbols that changes, you’ll get an extra free spin.
  4. Power Play
Again, you are awarded 10 free spins and these happen on enhanced reels. If you manage to collect 3 boxes during these spins, the number of free spins remaining is locked. An extra symbol is added to the reels too, in the form of the 23 box. When these spin in, they will transform into symbols that match symbols already on the reels. Some of these 23 boxes contain a blue box. If you collect 3 of these the remaining number of free spins is unlocked.
  5. Deal or No Deal
This feature is the one that most closely mirrors the action of the TV show, and it can be very lucrative. You need to select boxes as you would if you were playing on TV. You’ll receive offers from the banker for every 3 or 5 boxes you pick. If you’re familiar with the TV show, this will all seem very familiar to you.

Deal or No Deal What's in your Box Progressive Jackpot

This slot is part of the Jackpot King network of progressive jackpot slots. On any spin, you have a chance of triggering the jackpot prize. You collect crown symbols as you spin, and these give you the chance of winning the jackpot. Collect 5 of them on reels 1 to 5 to win the jackpot.

You can also access the Wheel King feature by collecting crown symbols. You can play the Wheel king feature when you have collected 15 of them. After this, you can choose an icon to reveal 1 of 3 possible outcomes:

  • This spins the reels again and adds any additional crowns to your win ladder.
  • This ends the feature with the player being awarded a bonus win based on the multiplier of the total bet they have reached on the win ladder.
  • Wheel King. This takes you to the Wheel King jackpot feature

Wheel King is a wheel of fortune type game where you spin the wheel to win either a big multiplier or the jackpot prize. The Jackpot King deluxe jackpots can only be won by playing Wheel King.

Deal of No Deal What’s in your Box is a Slot for Feature Fans

We’ll conclude this Deal or no Deal What's in your Box slot review by saying that this game promises much, especially when it comes to bonus features, but never quite delivers. While there is plenty of action on offer, some of the bonus features seem a bit similar once you have played the game a few times. We were also slightly disappointed with the quality of the graphics and sound in what is, after all, a branded game. But if you enjoy working your way through a slot’s bonus features, you’ll enjoy this game. In our view, it is an average rather than poor addition to the Deal or No Deal slot series.

Deal or no Deal What's in your Box Slot FAQs

🎰What is the Deal or No Deal What's in your Box scratchcard?
This is an extra game offered by Blueprint Gaming that is not linked to any of the Deal or No Deal slots. You can find it at many online casinos. Rather than being an actual scratchcard that you purchase in a shop, it is played online. If you want to find a casino where you can play it, check our list of Blueprint casinos here at this website.
🎰Can I play Deal or No Deal What's in your Box demo mode anywhere?
If you have an account with an online casino that offers this slot you should be able to play it for free in demo mode. This is a good way of familiarising yourself with the game and all of its features before you risk any actual money playing it. You can then sharpen up your strategy to the game and hopefully enjoy more success.
🎰Does Noel Edmonds make an appearance in the game?
Sadly, if you’re a fan of the show’s presenter, Noel Edmonds is not seen in the Deal or No Deal What's in your Box slot. We were hoping to catch a glimpse of him at some stage, but the bearded one did not appear. Whether you view this as a good thing or not depends very much on what you think of Noel, of course, but his twinkling smile may have added something extra to the game.
