Andrej’s been around since day one. Let’s just say that he could get around an online casino blindfolded. That’s not to say that he does, he’s a perfectionist at heart. Fine print? There is none with Andrej.
If you've been anywhere near an online casino or betting site in the last few years, you've likely heard of LeoVegas. The company have only been open since 2012, and since then have climbed to the top of the industry. But what's so good about them? This is what we aim to find out in our in-depth, unbiased LeoVegas Casino Review. Read below to find out if LeoVegas is more than just an excellent mobile casino.
A good welcome bonus is all well and good, but what about once that new-casino smell has worn off? Does your casino of choice continue to add value for you, or do they only do that just to get you through the door? Well, some casino sites might do just that, but not LeoVegas.
If you head to the "Promotions" section of their site on any given day, you'll find a good selection of promotions for casino players, live casino players, poker players, and sportsbook bettors. These change all the time, and they tend to have some especially exciting deals around holidays and major events and can be a great way to add value to your online gaming experience.
LeoVegas definitely get two thumbs up from us in this category, we love to see casinos going the extra mile to keep things fun and entertaining!
While they might have landed themselves in a little hot water for their adverts a few years ago, safety is one area where LeoVegas definitely don't skimp. At site level, the online casino is protected by 256-Bit SSL encryption, which is monumentally challenging to penetrate. They also possess some of the most sought-after online gambling licences in the industry, each with their own requirements for player safety, data protection, player funds protection, and more.
The licences that an online casino possesses can tell you a lot about a casino. While some licences, like a Curacao e-Gaming licence, are easy to obtain and more lax about their rules, there are other remote gambling licences out there that are more like banners of quality. The collection of licences that LeoVegas has earned are more like the latter. They possess licences from four different jurisdictions: the UK, Malta, Sweden, and Denmark.
Being able to jump through the hoops set by organisations like the UK Gambling Commission (Reference No.39198) or the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) is no easy feat. To get these licences, LeoVegas needed to prove that their games are fair through RNG testing, that player funds and personal data are exceptionally well protected and much more.
The fact that LeoVegas has managed to prove that they are fair, safe, and secure to some of the strictest licensing jurisdictions around is excellent news for players.
Another great sign that LeoVegas actually care about their customers is their intense commitment to protecting people from gambling behaviour that could be problematic or disruptive. Like many of their peers, they're affiliated with GamCare, GambleAware, and Gamblers Anonymous.
More than that, the responsible gaming section of their site is chock full of different tools, such as self-exclusion tools, that users can use to identify and manage problematic gambling behaviour. For starters, they have a self-assessment tool that players can use if they're in doubt about whether their behaviour is considered to be problematic or not. They also allow users to download their Player History, which is a summary of all the transactions associated with their account from the date of registration. There's also the standard Pause Account, Deposit Limit, and Wagering Limit functions to help users keep their spending under control. Still, they then go above and beyond to provide their users with a Loss Limit tool, a Time Alert to periodically remind players how long their current session is lasting, and even a Session Limit tool to help people make sure they log off after a certain amount of time.
Beyond all that, even, LeoVegas created their own website dedicated to responsible gaming called Leo Safe Play, which is definitely a lot more than the majority of their competition provides.
One thing we love to see when we review online casinos is an operator that gives players plenty of different options when it comes to banking methods. Whether you're a traditional kind of player who lives for bank transfers, or you're a die-hard e-wallet user, LeoVegas has you covered. Another thing we love to see is when casinos have high monthly withdrawal limits. If you win big, you'll likely be able to withdraw all your winnings that same month.
Could there be more payment methods? Yes, but that's true of every online casino out there. UK players, in particular, will be happy to see that the reigning king of e-wallets, PayPal is supported. Players will find payment methods like MuchBetter, Neteller, Skrill, and Trustly, so we highly doubt new players are going to be disappointed with the selection.
The only thing we found a little odd was that you have to register an account on the site before you can see any information about the banking methods, but just to be safe, we tested to see if there was any way around that. The customer service agents on the phone and on live chat gave us some basic information, but not much. Even after registering an account, you'll still have to dig and hunt around for all the info.
Like we said above, getting the specifics on payments at LeoVegas isn't easy, but we did manage to dig up most of what we needed. Your monthly withdrawal limit is going to depend on your player level, as below:
The majority of LeoVegas Casino users are going to have at least 3 free withdrawals a month (this goes up as your VIP Level increases), with additional withdrawals being subject to processing fees.
When it comes to withdrawal times, this is pretty much an absolute mystery. All we could find out between the FAQ section and the customer service agents is that withdrawals are processed within five banking days. This isn't an exceptionally long time for some withdrawal methods. Still, we were a little confused as to why we weren't able to get more specific information, like many other online casinos, have listed on their sites.
In general, withdrawing through e-wallets is likely to be faster than making a withdrawal to a debit card or via bank transfer. However, we still recommend using bank transfer for substantial amounts, such as jackpot winnings. Generally speaking, withdrawal times tend to be pretty standard across the industry, so we wouldn't worry too much. Here are the standard industry withdrawal times:
Withdrawal Method |
Withdrawal Time* |
Bank Transfers |
3-7 days |
Debit Cards |
3-5 days |
e-Wallets |
1-3 days |
*Including LeoVegas processing procedure time |
LeoVegas certainly didn't skimp when it came to building up their games library. The site currently has close to 2,000 casino games up and running, and they feature some of the most recognisable software providers out there. Yggdrasil, Microgaming, Net Entertainment, Play'n Go, Merkur, Quickspin and more are featured. The apparent result of this is that players are more than spoiled for choice at LeoVegas Casino.
Whether you're into slots, jackpots, or table games, you're likely to find your favourite games here. This hasn't always been the case with LeoVegas, who faced criticism in the past for not having some of the industry's most popular games. But that's all changed now! Of course, there are omissions in their library, just as there are in every other online casino's library. Still, you'd be hard-pressed to find many other casinos out there with as vast a casino game collection as LeoVegas.
Slots players have an odd issue to overcome, though. With over 1,800 slots games alone available on the site, there just aren't enough filters to make navigating the website as user-friendly as it needs to be. Sure, if you're looking for a specific game, the search function will do its job, but it's a lot harder to discover new games than it needs to be.
One thing we do like about the search function is that if you search for a game they don't have, you're provided with the closest alternatives, even if the names aren't that similar. For example, LeoVegas don't have NetEnt's Simsalabim Slot in their library, but if you search for Simsalabim, you'll be directed to Book of Dead Slot, which is a great alternative.
Jackpot fans will be pleased to hear that LeoVegas has 85 jackpot titles in their games library, including progressive jackpots, at the time of writing. This includes some of the biggest and most popular games in the industry, such as fan-favourites like Mega Moolah, Arabian Nights, and Mega Fortune. While this is, obviously, a much smaller number than their Slots section, a filter or two would still be helpful here, and might even help us discover new progressive slots that we might not have considered otherwise.
The jackpots are organised by jackpot size, so things will move around depending on when you open up the page. One thing we especially loved during our review testing was how many of these progressive jackpots had jackpots well over the £1million mark. At one point, there were 27 progressive jackpots just waiting to turn a lucky player into a millionaire.
This is one area where their library could possibly be beefed up a little, though the available selection is still pretty decent. LeoVegas currently have 42 games in their table games section, most of which are different roulette and blackjack games. It was refreshing to see Punto Banco and a few different types of Poker included too, though.
If you're looking for Blackjack or Roulette, though, you're in good hands. There are lots of different varieties of the popular table games, like French Roulette, European Roulette, Classic Blackjack, Double Exposure Blackjack, and many more.
In some ways, the user interface is fantastic, and in other ways, they come just shy of hitting the mark. We love that the site is clean, that it's easy to move from one section to the next without having to do any hunting around. We like that icons are large and we didn't get overwhelmed with information and colour and that there are a few different category pages to make it easier on the user.
The big obstacle here is the lack of filters. If they added filters for theme or software publisher, for example, it would make it much easier to get through their massive library. The slots section, in particular, probably features a few hundred games that are unlikely ever to see much traction when buried in page 14 of 19 in their slots section.
Like we said all the way at the beginning of our LeoVegas Casino review, the casino was set up to be the best mobile casino in the world. The question is, did they live up to that lofty ambition?
Before we get into the whole app situation, let's talk about the mobile web version of their site. "Mobile-Friendly" is a definitely a massive understatement here. Swiping through the LeoVegas site using a mobile web browser is an absolute dream. Everything is easily accessible, there are menus and discriminating categories in all the right places. The mobile-friendly version of the site is quick and fluid, full of colour, and extremely inviting.
They even have a section just for games designed explicitly with portrait mode in mind, and another section just for slots that were designed for touchscreen devices. When we usually look at online casinos' mobile sites, we're happy when we can do everything we could do on the desktop site. With LeoVegas, we feel like we can do even MORE than we could on the desktop site, like their quick-spin feature. Whether we were using a phone or a tablet, an iOS or an Android device, the experience was just phenomenal.
There's no way you can build the best mobile casino in the world if you don't release mobile apps. Most players out there want a handy, native app that can sit on their homescreen or in their app drawer. An app that can remember their login details send them push notifications about new bonuses, and that exists outside of their web browser that already has 43 unclosed tabs piling up.
LeoVegas certainly delivers here. Their iOS and Android apps are a dream to use. All the benefits we talked about above for the mobile site apply here, and the app does all the right things that an app should. We tried using the apps on iOS and Android phones, as well as iOS and Android tablets. Everything is bundled in there, slots, table games, even their live casino games and sportsbook!
We'd love to tell you which was our favourite, but we honestly can't decide. What we will say, though, is that we think LeoVegas have definitely made good on their founding ambitions.
Due to Google Play Store regulations in most countries, if you're outside the UK, you won't be able to find it on the Play Store. Players within the UK can follow the same steps listed above for the iOS version, as it's just a matter of searching in the Play Store and tapping "Install". Players outside the UK need to do a little more work, but it still only takes a minute or two to get up and running.
When you think of the biggest names in Live Casino software providers, you think of companies like Evolution Gaming, NetEnt Live, Authentic Gaming, Extreme Live Gaming, and Ezugi, and you can find games from all of these providers at LeoVegas Live Casino. For some online casinos, the live casino section almost feels like an afterthought, something tacked on at the end to round out their offering to players. With LeoVegas, though, fans of live casino games have more options than they're likely to know what to do with.
There are tables for all kinds of players hosted on LeoVegas. Tables for casual players, tables for high rollers, tables for those players that fall in between, tables reserved for VIPs, and tables in tons of different languages. There are tables in English, German, Swedish, Danish, and Norwegian, with hopes that even more languages will be added as time goes on.
The VIP tables are a nice added touch, with VIP Live Blackjack, VIP Live Roulette, VIP Live Baccarat, and even VIP Poker tables. This is a space where the high rollers out there can get together and let loose, with maximum bet limits being far above the standard tables.
There's also the fact that, as we mentioned above, most regions have access to a great, multi-tiered, LeoVegas live casino welcome bonus. The majority of casinos out there exclude live casino tables from being able to contribute to welcome bonus wagering requirements. At LeoVegas, though, live casino players get their own, exclusive welcome bonus!
Not only do LeoVegas work with the biggest names in Live Casino Games, but they also host their own Live Casino Games too in a section called Chambre Séparée. At the time of writing, they host 16 different live tables, broadcast live from the Portomaso Casino in Malta, which are exclusive to LeoVegas. Even here, in their homegrown area of their live casino offering, the LeoVegas Chambre Séparée selection has tables for a variety of different player types, with bet limits as low as £2,500 and as high as £20,000.
The LeoVegas Chambre Séparée (French for Separate Room) is definitely something that really sets this online casino aside as a force to be reckoned with in the live casino arena. It's a truly unique feature that we'd love to see more big-name casino sites doing themselves.
At LeoVegas, everyone is a VIP. No, that isn't a cringy phrase from an advert, it's how their VIP system works.
There are 100 VIP Levels at LeoVegas, and everyone starts at 1. The more you deposit, play, win, withdraw, etc., the higher your VIP level gets. All the benefits that high-level players get are kept under pretty tight lock and key, which is typical in the online casino industry, but here's what we've managed to find out:
LeoVegas have a pretty well-fleshed out help section, including a pretty comprehensive FAQ area, live chat, and contact details. There are two things we absolutely love about their help section: the fact that they have a customer support phone number, and an excellent FAQ section.
When it comes to judging the quality of an FAQ section, we need to look at several different factors. Are the topics covered broad? Are the questions realistic? Are the answers complete and easy to understand? Is it searchable to avoid wasting time clicking through menus? Does it actually help me?
When going through our LeoVegas Casino review testing, we answered "Yes" to all of those questions. With an FAQ helpdesk this good, it's unlikely that you'll need to actually contact the LeoVegas customer service team very often. Which is a good thing for anyone who values their time.
The live chat was, to be perfectly honest, a disappointment. As part of our LeoVegas Casino review testing, we used the live chat feature many times. Our waiting times were somewhere between 08 and 12 minutes, which is just ridiculous. Considering some other online casinos manage to connect you to a customer service representative in under 30 seconds, an approximate wait time of 10 minutes is shocking.
The customer service agents themselves weren't an issue, they were pretty much to standard when it came to how long it took them to respond to messages once we were connected, and they managed to answer most of our questions.

LeoVegas is definitely one of our top UK casinos. If you've read this far into our LeoVegas Casino review, then it's pretty clear to see that we're big fans.
Their commitment to the UK is clear to see from their payment method options alone, featuring PayPal, a UK-exclusive for online casinos, and accepting payments in GBP. Add to that the UK-support number and the UK-specific support email address, and there really isn't much more we could ask for from a UK casino.
At the beginning of this LeoVegas Casino Review, we asked a serious question: "What's so good about LeoVegas?"
It turns out, quite a lot actually. They certainly gave us a lot to write about, that's for sure. Are they perfect? No. But they come a lot closer than most other online casinos out there. LeoVegas is one of those rare casinos that serve up an excellent experience for new players and high rollers alike, and it's clear to see why they're considered to be one of the leaders of the online gaming industry. We definitely recommend signing up and giving them a shot, they make a solid case for becoming your new regular online casino, or even sportsbook.
