Energy Casino - A Rising Star

As of Autumn 2022, Energy Casino are no longer active in the UK market. This is how our review looked prior to their withdrawal.

Energy Casino may not be a household name yet, but with a massive game library, tons of payment methods, and a first-class live casino offering, they really do stand out from the crowd. Energy is a casino that take care of their players and really put the effort in making sure that every user gets terrific value. Continue reading our Energy Casino review below to get the full scoop on why we think that Energy should be your new regular casino.

Bonuses & Promotions for Existing Customers at Energy

You'd think that a double-whammy sign-up bonus would be generous enough, but the team at Energy have even more bonuses and promotions waiting for you once you're all settled in! They have new promos every week, as well as event-specific and seasonal promotions. Players can end up winning things like energy casino free spins, no deposit bonuses, and more.

Another thing we love about Energy Casino is that they've gamified the online casino with a points and level system. Sure, Energy aren't the first online casino to do this, but either way, we love a level system. Whenever players play slots using real money (i.e. not bonus funds) their Energy Bar fills up. Each time your Energy Bar fills up, you level up! Every time your Energy Level goes up, you get a prize like free spins, a bonus to redeem, Energy Points, or even cash. Energy Points are like an on-site currency which can be used in the Energy Shop, where players can buy free spins, gadgets, and more.

Is Energy Casino Legit?

Before you sign up and give an online casino all of your personal information and banking details, you need to know if they're trustworthy. Fear not, that's why we're here, to grab our magnifying glass and Sherlock Holmes hat and find out for you.

When it comes to Energy Casino, prospective players should have nothing to worry about. At site-level, Energy is protected by 256-Bit SSL encryption, which means that it's almost impossible for the site to get hacked and for your information to get intercepted by a third party.

Energy Casino have also been recognised as a legit casino by their peers, and have won a few international iGaming awards. In 2016 Energy won the SBC award for Rising Star in Sports Betting, and in 2017 they won a Malta iGaming Excellence award.

Remote Gaming Licences

The easiest way to see whether an online casino is trustworthy or not is to take a look at their gaming licences. Energy Casino is licensed by both the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and the UK Gambling Commission (Reference No.39325), two of the most respected online gambling licences out there. To obtain and to keep these licences, Energy needs to continue to prove that they are fair and secure. They need to verify that their games (and the random number generator software that powers them) are fair. They need to prove that they keep users' personal info safe and secure, and that players' money is kept in a separate account to regular company funds, and much more.

Energy Casino Payment Methods - E-Wallets Galore!

Energy have done an excellent job of making sure that they partnered up with tons of different payment service providers. You can find a full list of their supported payment methods below, but we'll get into some of the highlights.

The one thing we really love about their selection of payment methods is that it really does feel like a truly 21st-century collection of payment options. E-wallets, in particular, are really well represented, including Klarna, the e-wallet that exploded into popularity in 2019 due to their substantial investment in sponsoring a lot of influencers' videos and social media posts. The ever-popular Skrill and Neteller are, of course, included in Energy's list, as is MuchBetter.

Can I use PayPal at Energy Casino?

Unfortunately, no, Energy doesn't support PayPal payments at the time of writing. It's an odd gap in an otherwise plentiful selection, though I'm sure they'll consider adding PayPal support if enough users request it.

Withdrawal Times & Limits

An area where we think Energy could do a little better is their withdrawal times. Every withdrawal needs to be processed by Energy, as opposed to being handled automatically, and this can take up to 72 hours. During our Energy Casino review testing, we found that they generally process things in less than half that amount of time, but it could still be a little quicker.

In terms of Energy Casino withdrawal limits, players are generally capped at £5,000 a day. Anyone who struck lucky and has a big win to withdraw, though, should get in touch with their customer service team to get more significant deposits approved. This is pretty reasonable, as your average player likely won't be withdrawing more than five grand a day, and we doubt this will be a problem for most prospective players.

Energy Casino Withdrawal Fees

For such a modern and young casino, we're a little surprised to see that Energy have an antiquated system in place when it comes to withdrawal fees. Every player gets one free withdrawal a week, and then fees are imposed on additional withdrawals within the same week. There's a £5 withdrawal fee on any withdrawals beyond your first of the week, and if you withdraw any funds that haven't been wagered yet, you'll also need to pay a 10% processing fee (minimum £10).

We'd recommend making sure that you stick to a maximum of one withdrawal a week to avoid incurring any fees, though if you do need to withdraw more than once, the fees are actually pretty minimal.

Energy Casino Games Library is Superb!

When it comes to online casinos' game libraries, we believe that more is more, and the Energy Casino team seem to agree with us! Energy have partnered up with some of the biggest and best names in casino games publishers, companies like Greentube (a.k.a. Novomatic), Netent, Quickfire (a.k.a. Microgaming), Play'n Go, and more. You can find the full list at the bottom of this Energy Casino review.

Players are treated to a massive library, including some of the most popular online casino games out there. You'll find slots like StarBurstBook of Dead, and Gonzo's Quest, as well as insanely popular jackpots like Mega Moolah and Mega Fortune.

The table games selection is decent too, with a variety of different types of blackjack and roulette, like French roulette, roulette advanced, classic blackjack, and more. As well as, of course, baccarat, poker and video poker. We think there could be a more comprehensive selection of table games, but if we're being honest, Energy don't really have very far to go to tick all the table-game boxes.

They also have a decent selection of live casino games, but we'll get into that later on in the review.

UI - Welcome to the Dark Mode

It's 2023, which means that every app and operating system out there has jumped on the dark-mode-bandwagon, and Energy Casino aren't ones to be left behind. Personally, we love the monochromatic interface with splashes of Energy's signature shade of yellow. It's easy on the eyes, and the sparing use of colour makes it really easy to find all the essential parts of the site without even having to think about it.

When you first head to the library you're presented with a selection of slots games arranged in a grid, with a row of filters right above them. The options available are:

  • All Games
  • Slots
  • Table & Poker
  • Jackpot
  • Hot
  • New
  • Operator
  • A search bar

Our first impression was, if we're being honest, confusion. Not because we couldn't figure out how to find things, but the default filter isn't 'Hot' or 'New', it's 'All Games'. This means the first 7 games you see are actually just random titles, like Reactoonz, which does nothing to communicate to players what a treasure trove of casino games awaits, and doesn't even put the most-searched-for games front and centre.

When then clicking through the different filters, the experience is a little underwhelming, and we ended up wishing we had some more options for fine control and to help us discover both popular games as well as hidden gems. The games are always presented in a massive grid, with no sub-categories or anything of the sort. While it might be a little done-to-death at this point, we found ourselves missing the Netflix-esque subcategory carousels that have become so popular with other online casinos that whittles down a massive library into a more manageable format. This is more accessible in the Live Casino section, where the table games aren't lumped into a single category, but each have their own filter, as well as a filter for VIP tables.

We do love, however, the fact that Energy Casino gives players the ability to select specific software providers, so fans of a particular studio can find a selection of their games in just two clicks. We also love that they have a search bar, as it would be impossible to find anything otherwise.

It's very easy to find specific titles if you know what you're looking for, but we'd like to see Energy make it easier for players to discover new games.

We're just going to rip off the band-aid and then move on: There aren't any iOS or Android Energy Casino apps. There's an EnergyBet app (the Energy sports betting app), but no casino apps just yet.

Are we happy with that? Not really.

Is it a reason to write off Energy Casino? Absolutely not.

The lack of native smartphone/tablet apps doesn't mean you can't take Energy Casino on the go, though, it just means you'll need to use your device's browser. The mobile web version of the site is fully optimised, and it's a smooth and fluid experience. The mobile site has all the same functionality as the desktop site, though a few of the games aren't really touch-friendly, though this isn't specific to Energy, it's just how online casinos work right now.

The site isn't too demanding, so even older or less expensive devices should have no problems with it. As part of our Energy Casino review, we made sure to test the mobile site on a range of iPhones, iPads, Android phones, and Android tablets, and our experiences were consistent throughout.

Live Casino

Energy's Live Casino offering is made up of both Evolution Gaming and NetEnt Live tables, the two undisputed leaders in live casino game providers. Even a cursory glance at Energy's Live Casino page shows you that Energy take Live Casino games seriously. There are tons of tables available, with more variation than some of their competitors combined.

There are tables for all types of players, with buy-ins starting from a handful of pennies and buy-ins starting at £10,000 and everything in between. We especially love the fact that they have a section for VIP tables, so no matter what kind of player you are, Energy has a Live table game for you.

Energy Casino VIP Club - We Want In

The very first thing about the Energy Casino VIP Club that we fell in love with was that they have an information page describing it in detail. So many online casinos keep their VIP Clubs so top-secret that most people aren't even sure if they have one. Not Energy. Energy's VIP Club is just as exclusive as everyone else's, but prospective VIP members get a good idea of how to qualify for the programme and what kind of amazing perks might be waiting for them on the other side.

To become a member of the Energy VIP Club, you need to be a regular and loyal player. That's about it. Spend a lot of time on their site, play a lot of games (even place some sports bets, if that's your thing), and spend a lot, and you're on the right track. Once you do become a VIP member, you can end up being invited to exclusive events, get access to VIP tables in the Live Casino, and more.

As part of our Energy Casino review investigation, we also got in touch with a customer service agent to try squeeze as much information out of them as we could. According to them, VIP members get assigned a VIP manager and get access to exclusive VIP deposit bonuses, free spins, Energy Points, promotions, and more.

Customer Support - Not 24/7 But Still Great

The very first thing we want to mention about Energy's customer support is that they have an Energy Casino Phone Number! So many online casinos are sticking to just email and live chat support, but with Energy Casino, you can get on the phone and talk to a real human being. In our experience, that's always the easiest way to communicate and sort out any issues or queries you might have.

In addition to their UK and International helplines, there's also Energy Casino Live Chat and Email support. Everything about our experiences with the customer service team was fantastic, but we were disappointed to see that Live Chat is only available for a few hours a day. Hopefully, this will change later on, but night-owls out there will have to be careful not to wait until it's too late to try and contact customer support.

Why is Energy Casino good for UK players?

The team behind Energy put a lot of energy (ba dum tiss) into the UK market. Their inclusion of the newest trending payment method, Klarna, is already testament to that. Adding on the fact that they have a UKGC licence, and a UK customer support phone number, players from this region can rest assured that they’re in good hands with Energy Casino.

Energy is available in other markets too, and is available in a number of different languages, but it’s clear to see that the UK is a special market for them. We would, however, like to see even more focus on the UK in the future. For example, we’d love to see Energy adopt PayPal payments, or Boku deposits. Considering how committed Energy seem to their customers, though, we’re sure it’ll just be a matter of time.
